Spend the day in historic Machias, where the very first naval battle of the Revolutionary War happened. Visit the Burnham Tavern where the patriots hatched their plot against the British and which also served as a hospital during the battle.

Join Five Town CSD Adult Ed on July 15 for this one-day trip where you will visit the historic Burnham Tavern for a guided tour. You will also get to see the 1810 Gates House Museum in Machiasport, with additional visits to the famous Jasper Beach, the beautiful Roque Bluffs State Park, and the celebrated Helen’s Restaurant.

The trip leaves at 7:30 a.m. from Camden Hills Regional High School, returning about 10 p.m.

Cost is $175 paid by cash or check, which covers the bus only; meal costs are not included.
